SERVICE TERMS · UPDATED 2026-11-01
Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use RemoveBackgroundMusic. By uploading a file or purchasing an export, you agree to use the service lawfully and only with media you are authorized to process.
Service operator and eligibility
The service is operated under the name RemoveBackgroundMusic. You must be legally able to enter into these terms in the place where you live. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
Your media and permissions
You retain your rights in the media you submit. You grant us and our processing provider a limited permission to transmit, process, and temporarily store the audio solely to provide the requested preview or export. You are responsible for having the rights needed to copy, process, download, publish, and otherwise use both the input and result.
Audio processing and retention
For MP4 input, the browser extracts and uploads audio only; the video stream remains on your device. Result access through this service is available for up to 24 hours. For fal.ai processing, we request 24-hour automatic expiration of uploads and generated audio. For singing removal and any enabled Replicate processing, we also retain temporary audio in private Cloudflare R2 for the service recovery window, with an automatic expiration policy. Providers manage physical deletion; this service does not independently confirm its completion. Download results promptly. We do not keep a server copy of your original video. A completed MP4 may be held temporarily in browser storage, which can be cleared or evicted and is not a guaranteed backup.
Preview and result limits
The free preview helps you evaluate your own file before buying and is limited to one preview per day, covering no more than half the file: up to 15 seconds for audio and video. New Quick Fix and Creator Pack purchases use a shared minute balance for previews and full-file processing and do not grant bonus preview counts. Existing purchases keep the included preview counts originally granted; those previews cover up to 30 seconds, do not consume processing minutes and remain usable within the original purchase term even if its minutes have been used. When no free or included preview is available, signed-in minute-pack holders may explicitly choose a balance preview: each new sample of up to 30 seconds deducts 30 seconds from one active pack, even for a shorter sample. Full-file processing is charged separately, with no preview-charge offset. Available matching results for the same file, time range and processing settings are reused without a new charge for up to 24 hours. Confirmed technical failures restore the original reservation once; an uncertain submission stays reserved pending recovery and does not authorize another charge. Restoration does not extend expiry. Results can leave music, remove wanted sound, introduce artifacts, or create sync and compatibility issues. No particular separation result is guaranteed.
Single File
Previously labeled Single Video. Existing purchases and payment receipts keep the same file-bound rights.
Single File costs $4.99 for one successful full processing result for a source of up to two minutes. It is bound to your signed-in account, selected task and extracted audio; it is not a minute balance and cannot be transferred to another file. An unused entitlement remains valid for twelve months and does not renew. Technical processing failures release the entitlement for a retry. If audio processing succeeds but local video assembly fails, you can retry assembly using that same result within its 24-hour availability window without another AI job. Select the same original file to restore your task. Single File is available through Stripe.
Paid processing minutes
Quick Fix includes 10 processing minutes for $8.99. Creator Pack includes 50 processing minutes for $34.99. Both are one-time purchases, remain available for twelve months, and do not renew automatically. New minute packs have a 30-second minimum per full-file processing job; longer files use their actual duration rounded up to the next whole second, not to 30-second blocks. A 5-second file uses 30 seconds, a 45-second file uses 45 seconds, and a 2 minute 12.1 second file uses 2 minutes 13 seconds. There is no separate file or export-count limit. Previously purchased packs and checkouts created before this policy keep their original minimum; your account shows the rule for each pack. Jobs created under the previous whole-minute policy keep their original charge and restoration amount; historical balances are not automatically recalculated. Technical failures restore the original captured charge, not a newly calculated amount. Files must also meet the supported per-file duration, format, and size limits shown in the tool. Only one processing job may run per account at a time.
Failures, refunds, and billing errors
Purchase expiry prevents new processing jobs. A task started within the original purchase term can still be restored within that task’s result availability window, unless its purchase was refunded. Restoring a failed task’s reserved minutes or preview allowance does not extend the purchase expiry; an expired balance cannot start another task. Contact support if a technical failure leaves you unable to use a restored entitlement.
Completely unused Single File, Quick Fix and Creator Pack purchases are eligible for a refund when you request it within seven calendar days after payment and the purchase is completely unused. Single File is used when a full processed audio result succeeds. A minute-pack purchase is used once an included preview, balance preview or full processing job has successfully started consuming a paid entitlement. Free previews do not count as paid use. A partially used minute pack is not eligible for a refund.
Because separation quality depends on the source mix, we do not provide refunds solely because complex, overlapping, distorted, or otherwise difficult source audio produces an unsatisfactory result after full processing has started. Use the free preview to evaluate the source before buying.
If a technical job fails before a result is produced, the reserved minutes are restored automatically. If a service fault prevents delivery and we cannot restore the minutes or rerun the job, we may refund the affected purchase. We also review duplicate or unauthorized charges. To request help, email us within the applicable period using the checkout email and include the Stripe or Creem receipt or checkout identifier—never send card details or original media.
Stripe is the default payment provider. We may route checkout through Creem as a backup. The active provider is identified on its hosted checkout page and processes payment information under its own privacy and payment terms. Switching providers does not change the advertised price, included minutes, validity period, or our refund policy.
Creator Monthly
Where offered, Creator Monthly costs $19.99 USD per month and renews automatically. Each successfully paid billing period includes 30 processing minutes (1800 seconds). This legacy monthly agreement has no free trial. New yearly and monthly plans are described below; existing paid agreements retain their original price and quota rules. Applicable tax is shown at checkout. Monthly minutes do not roll over and expire at the end of their paid billing period. One-time packs retain their own original balance, expiry and charging policy.
New monthly minutes use a 30-second minimum per AI job; longer files are rounded up to the next whole second. A new balance preview uses 30 seconds, and full-file processing is separate. Reusing an available result or repeating local mixing/export without a new AI job does not consume additional AI minutes. Confirmed technical failures restore the affected reservation once, without extending its original expiry.
You can manage your payment method or cancel automatic renewal from Account → Billing → Manage Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid period. A payment failure does not grant an unpaid new period or remove minutes from an already-paid period before its original expiry.
A successful partial refund of a monthly payment reduces that period’s included minutes proportionally, rounded up to a whole second. A full refund removes the remaining monthly entitlement. Already used or reserved excess is reviewed; it does not create a negative minute balance or an automatic additional charge. Disputes or actionable fraud warnings may pause affected monthly minutes for review and stop further renewal. Separate one-time packs remain subject to their original rules. Contact support with your billing receipt for review; do not send card details or original media.
Creator, Pro and Studio subscriptions
Creator includes 30 processing minutes per service month for $19.99 USD billed monthly or $199 billed annually. Pro includes 60 minutes per service month for $29.99 billed monthly or $299 billed annually. Studio includes 120 minutes per service month for $54.99 billed monthly or $549 billed annually. Applicable tax is shown before payment. All subscriptions renew automatically with no trial; you explicitly agree to the chosen amount and billing period before entering checkout.
An annual purchase collects the full yearly price at once and releases minutes one service month at a time over the paid year. It does not grant all annual minutes immediately. Service months follow the paid invoice’s UTC anniversary day and time, clamped to the last day of a shorter month. Unused subscription minutes expire at each service month’s end and do not roll over. A failed renewal does not release unpaid new minutes. Cancel automatic renewal in Account → Billing → Manage Subscription; your already-paid monthly or annual service continues until its paid period ends, including the remaining monthly allocations of an already-paid year.
Each new AI job uses at least 30 seconds; longer sources are rounded up to the next whole second. A new balance preview uses 30 seconds; full-file processing is charged separately. Reusing the same available separation for local music changes or export retries does not repeat the AI charge. A paid Single File entitlement for the current task is used first; otherwise eligible minute balances are consumed in expiry order. One-time packs and subscription minutes are separate and keep their own original rules. Technical failures restore the affected reservation once without extending its expiry.
Canceling annual renewal does not automatically refund the unused part of a year. Refund requests are reviewed with the billing receipt, service usage and applicable consumer law; the seven-day completely-unused one-time-purchase policy does not promise automatic annual refunds. If a partial subscription refund succeeds, the monthly allocations covered by that invoice are reduced proportionately, rounded up to a whole second per allocation; a full refund removes the remaining affected service allocations. Already spent or reserved excess is reviewed without negative balances or an automatic additional charge. Disputes and actionable fraud warnings can pause affected subscription minutes and stop future renewal. These changes do not remove unrelated one-time packs. Contact support with your receipt for review.
Plan or billing-period changes, when offered, take effect at a clearly confirmed future renewal date. No hidden immediate upgrade charge, unused-service conversion or mid-period proration is applied. Checkout and account management show the applicable agreement; do not purchase a second subscription to change plans. These plans do not include unlimited processing, team accounts, priority queues or unimplemented batch features.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to infringe rights, process unlawful material, bypass access controls, overload or probe the service, automate free-preview abuse, resell access without permission, or interfere with other users. We may block abusive requests or suspend access needed to protect the service.
No transfer or clearance of rights
Processing does not make an input or result copyright-free, royalty-free, cleared, or safe for commercial use. You remain responsible for reviewing the result and your intended use.
Service availability and liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We may change processing providers, limits, or features to maintain security and reliability. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a claim relating to a paid export is limited to the amount paid for that export. This limitation does not apply where applicable law does not allow it.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the service operator and the relevant transaction. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer protections or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded in your place of residence.
Contact
Questions about these terms or a purchase can be sent through the contact page or to support@removebackgroundmusic.com. Do not attach original media unless we provide a secure upload method.
